Malls Vacancies Hit Six-Year High as Online Shopping Takes a Toll

More shoppers are shifting to online shopping, increasing the number of online shoppers and online sales statistics, while the number of standard brick and mortar shops (physical shops), which include well-known brand names, are declining.

Some of the brands opted to operate their online shops together with their physical shops. While some have decided to shut down and abandon their own commercial mall space.

Apparently, there is an upward trend not only in the United States, other regions such as Europe, Africa, and South East Asia are experiencing the same uptrend.

What really happens when the number of physical shops decreases? The first to be most affected are the usually busy and crowded commercial malls. These malls have been abandoned, (see photos) and you will be genuinely surprised to see left behind malls when you see these photos.
